Well, the boys and girls each completed the sweep yesterday, earning wins over Brighton, Gates-Chili, Greece Olympia and Batavia. This was the first time in the internet era (internet results go back to 2003, so that is 8 seasons of XC) that the boys have defeated Brighton. Brighton had been the only remaining team that Schroeder had not beaten during that time.
The girls had a similar accomplishment, beating Brighton for the first time in the internet era. That leaves 9 teams remaining for the girls to tackle (it was 11 before the season, but Victor was also removed from the list last week): Rush-Henrietta, Hilton, Penfield, Sutherland, Athena, Fairport, Mendon, plus Canandaigua and HF-L, both relatively new to the league (added in 2009).
The girls record stands at 11-4. This is the first time the girls have hit double digits in wins, during the internet era. With just one more win in the last two weeks, they will ensure a winning record, which has not happened since before 2003. You go girls!
