Federation Meet Results

The New York State Federation meet was held yesterday, in the traditional location of Bowdoin Park in Wappinger Falls, NY. The location used to move around each year. I think that ended about the time that it had to be shortened or canceled when it was scheduled to be run in the Syracuse area.

Results from this year's meet are available at Leone timing.

The East Aurora girls ran quite well, to finish 5th (first non-Section 2 team!). The East Aurora boys also out-performed expectations and finished 8th.

Section V was well-represented in the Boys race, by HF-L (4th, led by two juniors), Mendon (11th) and Brockport (14th). As individuals, Redfield was only 23rd (4th among Section V), Brimstein was 52nd and Dunham was 85th.

On the Girls side, Canadaigua 9th and 8th-graders finished 17th and 42nd to lead them to 10th, with just one senior in their top seven. They were the only local team. A junior from Class D, Amanda Moreland of Bloomfield, was the top local finisher, placing 9th. Elizabeth Schinski, another junior from a small school (Geneseo) was 20th, and Brianna Deming (51st) split two Mendon girls (Atkins, 45th and Tuite, 58th).

Soon, our season could last this long.
