Banquet

Well, we had our year-end banquet last night, and went well past the two hours scheduled (we did get started a bit late), so my remarks were brief (probably not brief enough for some). I hope I made it clear that we will really miss each and every Senior that is leaving. At the same time, there is great reason for optimism about our team's future. I think next year will be an exciting time for Webster Schroeder Cross Country.

Coach Klehr did a nice job with the Varsity and JV awards. There was a unique message for each team member, and I hope everyone was able to look back at their accomplishments with pride. Those of you that stayed healthy all year showed dramatic improvement from last year, and most of the injuries were the result of "trying too hard", which is a great change from the types of injuries we've seen the last two years.

Congratulations to all of you, including: the Rookies of the Year, Ethan and Anneleise; the Most Improved Runners, Johnny (Afro Thunder) and Khristyna; and the MVPs, Kenny and Alaina.

Thank you all for your commitment to the program and each other. I hope that most of you have learned from me at least of fraction of what I have learned from you. It will make us all better athletes, and people, in the future.
