Recent Meets

Once again time has been very tight and posting here has fallen victim to other priorities, but I'll try to get in a few quick posts today, to cover some recent happenings, and to look ahead to Friday and Saturday evenings.

So, most recent first...

Monday we traveled to Victor for our third dual meet of the season.  The girls that were healthy and available seemed ready to compete, the boys did not, which was unfortunate because it would have taken top performances for the boys to make it a close meet.  Victor's George Mertens was able to outkick Justin in the 1600 and Conor in the 800 in an impressive display, and Victor.ended up going 1-2 in each of those events.  On the girls side, the absence of Alex and Sarah from the sprinting and jumping events made for a tall order, but the distance girls helped step up and outscored Victor, despite Maggie Lawler's impressive showing in the 1500, getting us to the point where taking two of three relays would win the meet.  Sadly, the 4x100 team was edged out, and the 4x400 team did not manage to pop any good times, ending the hope of a win.

I have misplaced the splits - couldn't find them on Tuesday AM, so those will have to wait.
