Nice Workout Tonight

Climbing the steep part of the hill for the 3rd (or 4th or 5th) time must have felt painful, but I hope everyone took great pride in their accomplishment, once the workout was over.

I'm not immune to negative thoughts. I was saying to myself, "perhaps I should just time, since so many people forgot to bring watches, AGAIN!". It would have been a convenient excuse. But I knew that I would feel better after the workout, and, more importantly, I realized that this session is another key step in my training. Now, I can look back and feel good about knocking off another workout.

We don't have too many truly tough workouts left. Soon we will be starting the season, and be racing every Tuesday and most Saturdays, leaving just Thursdays to do real workouts. Next Thursday is actually our first meet, then there are only 6 workout Thursdays before Counties. Check those workouts off, one at a time, and see how much better you feel (and faster you run) at the end of the year!

Well, back when I was in high school, I used to be skinny. I picked up the nickname when I was a freshman and 5' 9", 100lbs.
