Everyone's a Steeplechaser Today

Tomorrow's meet gives all of the distance runners a chance to participate in the Steeplechase. Some of the keys to the Steeple are to:
  • hold yourself back a bit for the first 600m (it's too easy to get sucked out too fast, and you will pay the price later)
  • minimize the energy spent getting over the barriers (but DO NOT lose any momentum at the barriers)
  • be tough as nails in the last half of the race (this race, more than any other track race, is about mental toughness and overcoming the doubts that your brain tries to throw at you)
Good luck to all tomorrow! Sorry I can't be there, but I have "Meet Director" duties to perform at the US Orienteering Middle Championships at Letchworth (and the Relay Championships on Sunday at Mendon Ponds Park). Here is information about the meet.
